Micro-blogging site Twitter suffered the longest worldwide outage on Thursday. Twitter was down for as many as 45 minutes for users globally, including India, on both web and mobile app.
"Some of you are having issues accessing Twitter and we’re working to get it back up and running for everyone. Thanks for sticking with us," Twitter Support tweeted acknowledging the issue.
As per outage detection site Downdetector.com, Twitter was down for most users at around 6 pm IST. Most of the Twitter users reported problems with the website (65 per cent) while 34 per cent of Twitter users could not access the Twitter app. Another one per cent faced issues while logging in on Twitter.
ABP Live has confirmed that several users in India could not access the Twitter web client and some Twitter users were unable to access TweetDeck -- the social media dashboard application for the management of Twitter accounts.
Today's Twitter outage was the most severe and longest in many years.
While Twitter has acknowledged the outage officially, it was working on a fix at the time of writing this article. The micro-blogging site suffered an outage last month too.
Earlier in February, Twitter suffered a massive outage as the micro-blogging site stopped working for several users who claimed to have received messages like "something went wrong" and "try again" on the screen on the website as well as the mobile app. While some faced issues in sending tweets, several others had problems with checking comments on an existing tweet.
