Instagram Threads Hits 100 Mn Users In 5 Days


Instagram Threads, the new Twitter rival has 100 million registered users within just five days of launch amid declining popularity of Elon Musk-owned Twitter. According to tracker Quiver Quantitative, there are more than 100 million users on Threads now. It should be noted that Twitter started showing some content to visitors even without logging in to an account, which was not available for them before the launch of Instagram Threads which is being seen as a potential threat to Twitter. Meta CEO and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg had said last week that Threads attracted over two million users in a few hours.

Foxconn Pulls Out Of Semiconductor JV With Vedanta


Taiwan's Foxconn on Monday said that it is pulling out of a joint venture (JV) with Anil Agarwal-led Vedanta Ltd that was set up to produce semiconductors in India, a report by news agency Reuters said. Foxconn and Vedanta signed a pact last year to invest $19.5 billion to set up semiconductor and display production plants in Gujarat, were eyeing to tap into India’s plans to become an electronics major, according to the report.


Foxconn in a statement said, "Foxconn is working to remove the Foxconn name from what now is a fully-owned entity of Vedanta. Foxconn has no connection to the entity and efforts to keep its original name will cause confusion for future stakeholders."

Nothing's First Exclusive Service Centre In Bengaluru


Nothing is set to launch its second smartphone, the Nothing Phone (2) tomorrow (July) 11. The brand's first exclusive customer service centre in Karnataka has been opened and it intends to open five more such exclusive centres in the country by the end of this year and expand the number to 20 such stores in 2024, says a report by Economic Times, quoting Nothing founder Carl Pei.

Chinese handset maker Nubia has launched the first smartphone with a whopping 24GB of RAM. The Nubia RedMagic 8S Pro series is the first device to get 24GB of RAM on board, reports said. Nubia will be followed by the likes of OnePlus and Oppo under tech behemoth BBK Electronics, to launch devices with 24GB of memory. The smartphone from Nubia with 24GB of RAM features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 SoC which gets significant performance upgrades over the previous-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
