Dating Apps Tinder, Bumble, Others May Be Selling User Info


Dating platforms such as Tinder, Bumble and Hinge have revolutionised the process of meeting potental people for dating and, at times, finding love. However, a new report has raised concerns about these companies potentially selling users' personal information to advertisers. Researchers at the Mozilla Foundation found that 22 out of 25 dating apps they evaluated fell short in safeguarding user privacy, with some having experienced data breaches in the past. Popular dating apps like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge and OkCupid received the lowest rating, labeled as 'Privacy Not Included', according to the report.

The tech billionaire's 10-month-old company, which recently introduced an AI chatbot named Grok, is anticipated to finalise the deal within the coming weeks, according to report from TechCrunch, citing insider sources.


Tata Electronics Developing Machinery To Manufacture iPhone Casing


Tata Electronics is developing a highly intricate and advanced high-precision machinery internally, specifically tailored for producing Apple iPhone casings, says a report by the Economic Times (ET). Citing sources, the report added that the company has partnered with two Indian manufacturers to enhance its capabilities and intends to eventually export these sophisticated machines. Previously, the Tatas relied on imports from China for such equipment, the ET report further noted.

Tech Exec Jeff Lawson Acquires Satirical Website The Onion


Jim Spanfeller, CEO of G/O Media has revealed that publication The Onion has been sold to a Chicago-based entity named Global Tetrahedron, the media has reported. The CEO further noted that the company consists of "four digital media veterans deeply passionate about The Onion and comedy-based content." Led by former NBC reporter Ben Collins and owned by tech executive Jeff Lawson, Global Tetrahedron's acquisition was discussed with The New York Times.

The Nothing Phone 1, the debut smartphone model from the UK-based company, launched with Android 12-based Nothing OS, is currently receiving the Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.5.5 update, which has also been globally rolled out to Nothing Phone 2 users.
