Telegram has recently released a set of new features that focus on enhancing the overall user experience. One of the most significant additions to this list of updates is a new in-app browser with support for multiple tabs. The instant messaging platform has also announced that its users will be able to gift Telegram Stars to friends or family. These updates come on the heels of Telegram rolling out support for Copilot which happened last month.
Telegram New Features
In a blog post, Telegram outlined the new features included in its latest update. The update introduces an in-app browser that allows users to open multiple tabs, enabling easy switching between minimised and reopened windows. Telegram’s in-app browser also supports decentralised websites hosted on the Telegram Open Network (TON) across mobile and desktop platforms. Users can navigate back to chats without losing their place on a webpage.
Additionally, a new Apps tab has been added to the Search feature, allowing users to explore mini-apps available on the platform. This tab also provides a list of the apps they currently use and showcases some of the most popular mini apps. Developers can now upload video demos and screenshots for app previews.
Moreover, content generated through mini apps, such as leaderboard snapshots or AI-generated videos, can be shared directly as a Telegram Story. Stories now include an animated weather widget. Telegram Stars, initially intended for purchasing content in mini apps or paid channel content, can now be gifted to friends or family.
Furthermore, when recording a video story with the front camera, users can now utilise the front flash to illuminate the screen. After updating to the latest version of Telegram on iOS or Android devices, a new flash icon will appear at the bottom-left corner of the camera interface. Additionally, Telegram has added a feature that allows users to select a cover image for their video stories, giving them the option to choose the image that appears first.
