In a bid to stay competitive, tech giant Meta Platforms enhanced its image generation model Emu last year, introducing two AI-driven features enabling text prompt-based video editing and generation. Meanwhile, speaking at the World Government Summit in Dubai, OpenAI CEO Altman emphasised the need to address potential societal impacts stemming from AI advancements. Altman stressed the importance of recognising subtle societal misalignments, which, if left unattended, could lead to unintended consequences far beyond scenarios involving "killer robots."


"In envisioning scenarios where things could go wrong, it's not just about killer robots roaming the streets," Altman remarked. "I'm more concerned about the nuanced societal misalignments where unintended outcomes arise despite no malicious intent."
