New Delhi: Signal Messenger app known for its privacy policy has stopped glitched. Signal users in India are neither able to send messages nor make calls. The Signal service has completely stopped and no explanation has been given as to how long will it take for the situation to return to normal.

When Signal users opened the app on Monday morning, the app did not open, and instead, a message was displayed saying: "The Signal is having technical problems. We are working hard to restore service as soon as we can.''

The company also confirmed it on Twitter and said, "Guys wait a little bit! The signal is still off because of a hosting outage affecting some parts of our service. We're working to fix it."

Even in January, the company had to face similar difficulties when its downloads went up suddenly. People were finding an alternative after WhatsApp updated its privacy policy.

This move by WhatsApp's sparked a renewed debate about privacy all over the world. Tesla CEO Elon Musk had also stressed the use of the Signal app. After his two-word tweet 'Use Signal' its downloads increased unexpectedly.
