In an interview with Bloomberg, Nadella commended the Rabbit OS and device demo, highlighting its uniqueness and impact, reminiscent of the groundbreaking iPhone launch.

In his insights on artificial intelligence (AI), Nadella underscored the dynamic landscape of technology, emphasising the emergence of potent models and products. He envisioned a future where operating systems, exemplified by the Rabbit, would centre around agents rather than distinct applications, transforming user interactions.

CES 2024 witnessed the unveiling of the Rabbit R1, a novel gadget by AI startup Rabbit, which garnered significant attention. Sales of the Rabbit R1 exceeded 10,000 units on its launch day. Resembling a square-shaped Game Boy, the device features a touchscreen, walkie-talkie capabilities, and a camera, setting it apart from conventional smartphones. In an interview with The Verge, Rabbit's CEO emphasised that while the Rabbit R1 may have the potential to replace smartphones in the future, it is not their current objective.

Functioning like mobile applications, the Rabbit R1 operates independently without relying on a smartphone. Fueled by the Rabbit OS, the device facilitates messaging, calls, and access to services like Spotify and Uber. The Rabbit R1 includes its virtual assistant, proficient in handling complex commands, akin to Siri and Alexa.

Equipped with a 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio P35 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage, the Rabbit R1 promises an "all-day" battery life with USB-C connectivity and a SIM slot. Operating on continuous internet connectivity, the compact device features a rotating camera for multimedia capture and a scroll button for user interaction.

Priced at $199 (approximately Rs 16,500), the Rabbit R1 is available for purchase exclusively in the United States, with no information provided on its availability for the Indian market.
