Dismissing any rift between Rashtriya Janata Dal and Janata Dal-United over seat sharing in INDIA alliance, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said that they will be contesting the upcoming elections under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar, news agency ANI reported. Speaking with media, Dy CM Yadav stated: "We are with JDU, JDU is with us. Mahagathbandhan will contest the elections with full strength. We are working under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar."






"He (Nitish Kumar) is the CM, I am Deputy CM. We do meet regarding government's working. We are working strongly together. It is certain that the BJP will lose (in 2024 Lok Sabha elections) in Bihar," Yadav stated. 






RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav along with Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav held a meeting with Bihar CM Nitish Kumar at his residence on Friday, news agency PTI reported.






Earlier this month, Bihar deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav visited CM Nitish Kumar's house for discussing the number of Lok Sabha seats they will contest upcoming elections in the stated. According to Times Of India report, Seat-sharing is almost complete, with the RJD and JD(U) competing for 16 seats apiece, Congress getting five seats, and the Left receiving three. Nitish is emphatic about 17 seats, which JD(U) fought in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. 


2019 Lok Sabha Polls


The BJP achieved a massive victory in the 2019 elections, winning 303 of the 436 seats it contested, a record 70% success percentage. This electoral achievement was fueled by the party's total vote share of 37.4 percent and an even more astounding 46.1 percent in the seats it contested. In contrast, the Congress party maintained a stable 19.5% vote share, similar with their 2014 record, resulting in 52 seats in 2019.
