Microsoft has announced new features to its meeting platform Teams. It has introduced features such as the option to send scheduled messages and the ability to launch instant polls in meetings. The list of fresh features also includes the ability to watch up to 49 videos on the screen, screen pop-ups for PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) calls and messages as well as saving and bookmarking group chats.


Microsoft Teams users can now also schedule messages. This also means that they can now start Teams Chat in mail-enabled security groups, and Office 365 Groups.

“From meetings to devices, from large meetings to 1:1 chats, we keep finding ways to innovate in a fashion that you can continue to easily collaborate. Between finding devices to ensure everyone in the meetings in included to leveraging AI enhancements for transcription, Microsoft Teams ensure that you have the information at your fingertips,” Holly Lehman, Product Marketing Manager of Microsoft Teams, wrote in a blog post announcing the latest updates.

In addition to these new features, Microsoft Teams viewers can see search messages as well as the full chat history. The new features also allow users to catch up with the conversations that were left unread. This can be done by turning on the unread message toggle button. Users can also turn off the unread toggle to view messages that were left unread.


For users who have Teams branded displays, the company has also added support for hotdesking in portrait mode. IT Admins can also manage Microsoft Surface Hubs from the admin portal and can remotely restart the device, gather logs, among others.
