Some of us might be sick and tired of those annoying reels appearing in our Instagram feed one after another. While the feed has been shaped by us only but there is a possibility that some people do not wish to align with their prior choices and want different kind of content to appear in their feed. In such case, manually changing your feed is like an impossible task but, Instagram is planning to make things easier for us.
According to reports, Instagram is testing a new feature that will let users reset their content recommendations. This feature would essentially reset the algorithm that curates the posts and videos appearing in users’ feeds. Currently in the testing phase, it is designed to provide users greater control over their content, especially if the recommendations no longer match their interests. Once fully implemented, it aims to enhance user experience by tailoring the feed more effectively.

Meta Making Instagram A Safe Place For Teens
Earlier this year, Instagram introduced new privacy options allowing teenagers to specify the topics they want to see more often, such as sports, food, travel, and books. To refine content suggestions, Instagram already enables users to indicate interest in recommended videos. Additionally, the platform considers other signals, like whether users interact with posts through likes or shares, to personalize their feed further.
Meta in a blog post wrote, “We want to make sure everyone on Instagram — especially teens — has safe, positive, age-appropriate experiences and feels the time they're spending on Instagram is valuable. We want to give teens new ways to shape their Instagram experience, so it can continue to reflect their passions and interests as they evolve."
