Mark Zuckerberg, the billionaire CEO of Meta, has announced that he and wife Priscilla Chan are expecting a third baby. While Zuckerberg is usually private when it comes to family matters, he took to Facebook and Instagram on Wednesday to announce that he will welcome a baby daughter “next year”.

The father of two posted a photo of himself and Chan, with a simple caption: “Lots of love. Happy to share that Max and August are getting a new baby sister next year!”

Zuckerberg’s two children, Maxima Chan Zuckerberg and August Chan Zuckerberg, were born in 2015 and 2017, respectively. Zuckerberg and Chan began dating back in 2003, just a year before Facebook was founded, and tied the knot in May 2012. The couple runs the philanthropic platform Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, pledging an investment of 99 percent of their wealth from Facebook shares over their lifetime

In other Zuckerberg-related news, the Meta Chief has become the latest victim of this year’s global economic meltdown, as his net worth has plummeted by nearly $71 billion in 2022, as per Bloomberg.

The 38-year-old CEO is now ranked at #22 on the Forbes Billionaire list, with a current real-time net worth of $52.3 billion at the time of writing. He held the third rank on the list in 2021.

The primary reason behind this loss is being attributed to Meta’s miserable performance in the stock market, which has now lost nearly 60 percent of its value since Facebook was renamed Meta in October 2021.

On September 20, Zuckerberg announced a partnership between Meta and Salesforce. The deal will enable all businesses that use Salesforce to use WhatsApp business messages service to “answer customer questions, run marketing campaigns, and sell directly in chat.”

“More and more people prefer to communicate with businesses over text,” Zuckerberg said. “That's why we launched our Cloud API earlier this year and are now partnering with Salesforce.”
