New Delhi: In a bid to make its mark in the podcast space, LinkedIn is set to debut its own podcast network. The Microsoft-owned company will host in-house shows geared towards a professional audience that focus on areas including understanding technology, managing mental health and explaining the hiring process.
Co-founder and executive chairman of LinkedIn, Reid Hoffman will co-host a podcast about personal entrepreneurship called 'The Start-Up of You' that is slated to premiere this spring. The company said the LinkedIn Podcast Network is a pilot and builds on the success of Hello Monday, a podcast produced by LinkedIn News in which host Jessi Hempel delves into the evolving nature of work, the media has reported.
The LinkedIn Podcast Network is an advertiser-supported pilot that has been created in collaboration with Verizon. It intends to transform podcasting into a more community-oriented industry, according to a report by The Drum. Also, listeners will be able to check out the podcasts on LinkedIn directly if they follow the hosts and subscribe to their newsletters. The shows will also be available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and similar podcast platforms.
LinkedIn has been announcing new features, aiming to expand its base and the platform had announced it has added Hindi language support, in a bid to reach the Hindi-speaking community of more than 600 million globally, in December.
With the addition of the Hindi language, LinkedIn supports 25 languages globally. The company added that it will continue to evaluate other regional languages as it intends to create equitable economic opportunities for every member of the workforce and to help diverse professional communities come together on the platform.
