While OpenAI's viral artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT's ability to pose danger to society is being debated, a new and "powerful" AI chatbot named KissanGPT has become the talk of the town which can help Indian farmers with their agricultural queries and provide suggestions on crop cultivation, pest control, soil management and more, real-time.

In a bid to cater to the needs of the farming community, KissanGPT has been developed using the power of cutting-edge AI technology, using natural language processing techniques to provide accurate and efficient assistance to farmers, the media has reported. KissanGPT currently supports nine Indian regional languages, including Hindi. It also supports English.

KissanGPT has multilingual support and it has a user-friendly interface. It is likely that more farmers discover the benefits of using AI-powered tools like this and that results in greater adoption of such chatbots in the agricultural sector.

KissanGPT's founder Pratik Desai recently posted about the chatbot from his Twitter handle @chheplo and wrote: "Introducing Kissan (Farmer's) GPT. A ChatGPT and Whisper-based assistant for underserved agriculture domain of India. Work-in-progress. Expect bugs. (It uses ChatGPT-3.5-turbo and expecting results to improve after GPT-4 and adding custom embeddings.) https://kissangpt.com."

According to a report by Business Insider India, farmers in India increasingly turn to KissanGPT, the AI chatbot designed to assist with agricultural queries to maximize their profits. The chatbot has been gaining popularity among farmers, who are using it to seek advice on which vegetables to plant for maximum profit.
