International Cat Day: August 8 marks the celebration of International Cat Day, an event initiated two decades ago by the International Fund for Animal Welfare to promote the protection of animals from abuse. This year, Google has joined the festivities by introducing a playful interactive game that showcases the charming and mischievous nature of cats.

How To Play Google's Secret International Cat Day Minigame

To access this feline-themed game, simply search "International Cat Day" on Google. A paw icon will appear just beneath the search bar, inviting users to click on it. Upon clicking, a large cat's paw prints appear on the screen, accompanied by a distinctive "MEOW" sound.

Each click generates more meows and paw prints, turning your screen into a playful cat playground.

To clear the paw prints, users can click on a 'cross' button that appears after multiple prints have been made. This triggers an amusing animation of the prints being cleaned, which I suppose any cat paw-rent can automatically identify with.

Give Your Catto An Invisible Kitten To Catch

Beyond its entertainment value, the game offers a humorous way to engage with your pets. By increasing your device's volume and repeatedly clicking the meow button, you can create a realistic sound that may prompt your pet to investigate.

This trick has the potential to generate some amusing content for social media, as evidenced by users who have shared their pets' curious reactions online.

While the game is a delightful addition to the day’s celebrations, it also serves as a reminder of the importance of animal welfare. As we enjoy these light-hearted moments, it's crucial to remember the underlying message of International Cat Day: the protection and care of animals in our communities.
