An Instagram bug that was reported to cause users to see the same Instagram Stories again even if they had already viewed it has been fixed. Several Instagram users were said to be affected by the issue and they said that the Meta-owned photo-sharing platform was forcing them to view old Stories. However, the Instagram bug was only causing trouble to iOS users and it has now been fixed via the latest version 239.1 of the app.

The Instagram bug acting up for iOS users was reported by several users on Reddit. The Meta-owned platform has rolled out an update in the Apple App Store with a fix for the Stories bug. The Instagram Stories bug is basically the platform not remembering Stories viewed by users and that's why it showed the same Story each time somebody shared new content.

Meta spokesperson Christine Pai was quoted as saying by The Verge that the company is “aware that some people are having trouble accessing Instagram Stories.” The spokesperson added that the photo-sharing platform is “working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible” and apologises for the inconvenience.

Meanwhile, amid reports of banned short video platform TikTok attempting to make a comeback in India, Instagram is trying to compete already and is adding the ability to make longer Instagram Reels of up to 90 seconds. Earlier this month, Instagram announced rolling out a series of updates and new features for its Reels products across both Facebook and Instagram with the most interesting being the "Sound Sync" feature on Facebook Reels.
