Social networking giant and Instagram parent Meta previewed several new features at an event in Gurugram. Instagram's four new features are aimed at the GenZ users in India. The photo-sharing platform has unveiled creative tools such as Audio Notes, Birthday, Selfie Video Notes and Multiple Lists in Instagram Stories to entince GenZ users in the country. According to Meta, it will start testing the features soon.

Meta has said that the Birthday feature will help people let their friends and followers know when it’s their birthday and help their friends celebrate in fun ways, like using stickers and confetti. Instagram's Audio Notes is intended to help users leave a voice recording as a Note whereas the Selfie Video notes will allow users to capture a short video that will loop in their Note for 24 hours.

The much-requested Multiple Lists in Stories feature will let users create more lists beyond just 'Close Friends'.

"Notes has become a favourite among young people, to easily share updates with each other. It’s one of the top ways teens communicate with their friends, right up there with DMs," Meta said.

"Soon you’ll be able to make lists for your different groups of friends, your family -- whoever you want," the social media giant added.

Company CEO Mark Zuckerberg, on the other hand, has announced bringing Telegram-like “broadcast channels” feature to Facebook and its flagship messaging platform Messenger after rolling it out to Instagram and WhatsApp earlier this year. The feature is said to become available in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Instagram Threads, the X rival, got the much-awaited edit button along with another useful feature, earlier this month. With the addition of the edit button, Instagram Threads users will be able to edit posts as many times as they want. But they will be able to do it only within five minutes of posting.
