Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is set to begin manufacturing in India, in partnership with VVDN Technologies. The tech giant aims to manufacture high-volume servers worth $1 billion in the country, in the first five years, the media has reported. These high-volume servers are said to be manufactured at VVDN Technologies plant in Manesar in the Indian state of Haryana. According to HPE, this manufacturing operation intends to support the growing demand from customers in India and further strengthen and it would diversify HPE’s global supply chain, says a report by news agency IANS.
“India is a strategic market for HPE’s business, talent, innovation—and now, manufacturing. Customers in India continue to turn to HPE to help them digitally transform, and our 14,000 team members here play a key role in driving our edge-to-cloud strategy. We are proud to build on our strong presence by establishing a manufacturing operation in this important country," Antonio Neri, President and CEO of HPE, was quoted as saying in a statement.

SVP and managing director of HPE India, Som Satsangi and Puneet Agarwal, CEO of VVDN Technologies, met Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology.
“India is expected to grow into a $1 trillion digital economy, and we believe that ‘Make in India’ will help accelerate this vision. With local manufacturing, HPE will be able to better serve the needs of our customers across industries and segments,” Satsangi was quoted as saying.
HPE's biggest workforce outside of the US is in India and its biggest campus is located at Mahadevapura in Bengaluru. It is home to many of HPE’s global product development resources. More than 4,000 of HPE’s most distinguished scientists, engineers, and research teams are based out of HPE’s R&D hub at this campus.
