YouTube on Thursday launched a new and much-awaited feature which aims to help creators in their journey. YouTube has said that users can now 'remix' their music videos in the Shorts section which gives it the power to compete with short-video sharing platform TikTok. Earlier last year, YouTube introduced new remixing tools such as the Collab and fun effects on Shorts and now with this latest announcement, the company aims to enhance the experience for users.
YouTube in a statement said, “Today, we’re helping you take it to a whole new level with the ability to remix a music video on Shorts, unlocking even more ways to connect and get creative with your favourite artists and their music on YouTube.”
But how will you be able to use this feature? Fret not, we have got you covered.
How To Remix Videos In Shorts
According to YouTube, the first thing you will have to do is to open the app and select the video that you want to use with the Remix feature. Then click on 'Remix' after which you will have to choose from four options — Sound, Green Screen, Cut and Collab.
YouTube in its statement while narrating the further steps stated, "Take just the sound from the video and use it in your Short, making a perfect soundtrack for your upcoming trip to Nashville that happens to be this weekend.”
You yourself can create a Short alongside the video. One can make use of the video as the background to their Short. You can now film your real-time reaction to your very first listen.
The company added, “On YouTube, you can watch the music video on repeat, check out other Shorts that have been created from the same song by fellow fans, and discover deep catalog cuts from your favourite artists and relive those moments by remixing them as your own."
