New Delhi: Almost a year after introducing the feature in the iOS app, Google is finally letting the ability to delete the last 15 minutes of your search history on the Android app. Android users should be able to find the "delete last 15 min" feature next to the profile icon if the feature is available in your region. The ability to delete the last 15 minutes of search history on the Android app will roll out to all users globally in the next few weeks, the media has reported.

“We’re currently rolling this feature out on the Google app for Android and expect it to be available to everyone using the app in the next few weeks,” Google spokesperson Ned Adriance was quoted as saying in a statement by The Verge. “We’re continuing to explore ways to bring this helpful feature to other surfaces.”

Initially announced at the Google I/O conference in May 2021, the feature was made available for iOS app users in July last year. Due to reasons unknown, Google did not make the feature available for the Android app. Earlier in May 2021, Google had announced a new “quick delete” option to delete the last 15 minutes of users' Search history with a tap from the Google Account Menu.

"...You can also try out a new way to quickly delete your last 15 minutes of saved Search history with the single tap of a button. This feature is available in the Google app for iOS, and is coming to the Android Google app later this year," JK Kearns, Product Manager, Search at Google had earlier said in a statement.
