The official Google Play Store, which is the app store available on all Android handsets is currently facing an outage for several users globally. Both the app and the web version of Google Play are down and inaccessible. According to outage detection site Downdetector.com, most problems reported by Google Play users included issues with downloads, followed by search issues.

Google has not issued any official statement on the reason behind the outage or acknowledged it.

However, it seems like the issue with Google Play Store is affecting select users. According to reports, some users can access the official Google Play Store easily while some others are facing an issue accessing the Play Store on both the mobile app and web browsers. Some users can update the installed apps from the “My Apps” section on Google Play, but they cannot access the home page of the Google Play.

Several users took to Twitter to report the Google Play Store outage. A Twitter user named Anurag Chawake with Twitter handle @antechx wrote: "It looks like Google Play Store is down right now. Getting this error for the last two hours."

Another user named Ravens with Twitter handle @lydiaravens posted: "Glad to know it's not just me having google play store down!"
