Diwali is only less than a week away, and Christmas is right around the corner. This is the time when people across the globe chalk out their plans on what to gift their loved ones. Of course, in today’s age of easy online shopping, one can be spoilt for choices more often than not. Should you go for a smartwatch for your little sibling? Or should you go for a much-needed air purifier for your parents? Well, Google has come out with its list of 100 trending holiday gifting ideas.

Of course, we understand that browsing through 100 gifts is no short task. Hence, we have collated five tech/home appliance gifting ideas, based on Google Holiday 100.

Mini Bladeless Fans

As per Google Holiday 100, ‘mini bladeless fan’ was the top trending search query for bladeless fans over the past year. Often referred to as an Air multiplier fan, bladeless fans operate by expelling air through a circular or oval aperture without utilising conventional external blades.

However, it's important to note that these fans do contain concealed blades attached to a propeller located within their base. The bladeless bit is more of a tech-y gimmick.

Of course, you will find several mini bladeless fans on e-commerce portals such as Amazon, Flipkart, JioMart, or even Meesho. Prices can range from as low as Rs 500 to up to Rs 3,500, depending on the brand or quality of the product.

Mixed Reality Headset

As per Facebook (now Meta) founder Mark Zuckerberg, the metaverse is where the future lies. Understandably, everyone from Samsung to Apple has now taken to bringing out mixed-reality headsets, which enable users to seamlessly blend their physical surroundings with a virtual environment, enabling them to interact using their natural hand movements, all while maintaining an uninterrupted experience within their head-mounted display.

As per Google Holiday 100, search interest in mixed reality headsets reached a five-year high in June. There are dozens of headsets to choose from on online shopping platforms, ranging from Rs 1,299 for JioDive smartphone-based VR headset to Rs 37,999 for the top-end Oculus Quest 2 headsets. While the former needs a smartphone to be attached in order to be operated, the latter is a complete VR headset on its own and comes with handheld controllers.

Google Pixel Fold

Is it really that surprising that a Google Search-based list wouldn’t miss mentioning the company’s most premium (and its maiden foldable) smartphone offering? Launched in May, the Pixel Fold comes with a massive 7.6-inch main OLED screen and a 5.8-inch cover screen. Powered by Tensor G2, the phone comes with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB internal storage. It comes with a triple rear camera setup, marked by a 48-megapixel primary snapper, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

As per Google Holiday 100, search interest in the Pixel Fold increased by over 700 per cent this year.

Priced at $1,799 (roughly Rs 1.47 lakh), the Pixel Fold will only be available in Germany, Japan, the UK, and the US as of yet. It remains to be seen when it hits the Indian market.

Coway AirMega Air Purifiers

As Delhi’s (and most Indian cities for that matter) air quality index (AQI) climbs up to panic-inducing levels, it makes absolute sense to have multiple air purifiers in your home. As per Google Holiday 100, search interest in Coway AirMega has tripled in 2023.

Priced at Rs 14,900 (down from MRP of Rs 34,900 on Amazon) and available across all leading e-commerce platforms, AirMega 150 promises a filter life of up to 8,500 hours as well as a seven-year warranty. It claims to be proficient in trapping 99.99 per cent of viruses and PM 0.1 particles.

Smartwatches

As per Google Holiday 100, search interest in smartwatches has jumped every December since 2012, showing the immense popularity wearables enjoy among buyers. Quite a helpful gift, smartwatches aren’t just a flashy gizmo, as they help track workouts, sleeping cycles, SpO2 levels, and even heart rates in premium cases. Be it Amazon, Flipkart, or any other e-commerce platform, smartwatches can range from below Rs 1,000 to up to Rs 35,000.
