Drone startup Garuda Aerospace will deploy its "Droni Drone" for surveillance in several areas of Turkey that was hit by a disastrous earthquake, to identify and help in the rescue operations. The company's modified "Kisan Drone" will carry payloads that will help transport emergency medicines, supplies and food for victims in Turkey, which was struck by powerful earthquakes, resulting in significant loss of life and property.

The drone startup will be deployed in a rescue mission in Turkey by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
“Garuda Aerospace has always stepped up during crises and has created massive impact by deploying drones for various emergency situations. Given the current situation in Turkey, Garuda Aerospace is deploying drones to support the ongoing rescue and relief operations. As a citizen of India, I'm humbled to support the NDRF in times of need," Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO, Garuda Aerospace, said in a statement.
To recall, the company deployed drones for rescue and relief operations during the glacier burst at Chamoli in Uttarakhand and also played a role by supporting the locust control operation in Rajasthan.
At least 11,200 people have been confirmed dead so far since Monday's 7.8 magnitude earthquake at the time of writing this article. The aftermath of the earthquake has been “more disastrous” in Syria than in Turkey where the epicentre of the quake was located, said the country director for Syrian American Medical Society Foundation (SAMS), according to a report by CNN.
“It’s a disastrous situation both in Turkey and Syria – although in Syria it’s more disastrous,” Bachir Tajaldin told the publication on Tuesday.
In contrast, “the situation in Turkey is coordinated through a very well-settled government,” he explained, adding that in northern Syria “most of the services are provided by NGOs” due to a lack of long-term investments in early-recovery and infrastructure.
