With the much-anticipated Apple Worldwide Developers Conference or WWDC 2022 kicking off today, Monday (June 6), iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 are the major announcements expected from the event that runs through June 10. The developer-centric event will mostly be a virtual event, but there is a special in-person event today at Apple Park that will most likely see limited attendance. The keynote address will be held online today and hosted by Apple CEO Tim Cook at 10 am PDT or 10:30 pm IST. The WWDC 2022 can also be streamed live on the company's website, Apple's Developer app, Apple TV and YouTube.

Apple announcements expected at WWDC 2022


The tech giant is widely expected to unveil iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13, watchOS 9, and tvOS 16, plus new Macs, including a refreshed MacBook Air at the event. Among all announcements, the most exciting is touted to be the iOS 16 which is likely to bring the always-on display to the upcoming Apple iPhone 14 lineup.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple may also give a facelift to the notifications system.

    • Enthusiasts who wish to watch the WWDC event from any device can do so through Apple’s Special Events website.

    • There is an option to watch through the Apple Developer app on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV.

    • Users on YouTube can also stream the WWDC event from the video embedded below.

    • It should be noted that this will be the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began that the WWDC conference will have some on-campus attendance of developers. However, Apple has tightened the Covid-19 prevention rules for developers that need to be followed.

First WWDC since pandemic to have on-campus presence


Apple's Keynote begins on June 6 at 10 am PDT or 10:30 pm IST. The WWDC22 will launch with first look at the updates coming to Apple platforms later this year. The keynote address will be available via apple.com, the Apple Developer app, the Apple TV app and YouTube, with on-demand playback available after the conclusion of the stream.
