WhatsApp Down: Instant messaging app WhatsApp was reportedly down on Friday evening from around 10:59 pm (IST). Even the web version of WhatsApp is faced connecting issues. The extent of the outage of the Facebook-owned IM app is yet to be ascertained. Even the geographical extent of the glitch was not specified yet. 


However, the services were resorted after around 40 minutes at 11:40 pm. 


Soon after WhatsApp went irresponsive, several users took to micro-blogging site Twitter and reported the incident and had a field day. Looking at the tweets, it could be understood that the outage was not just limited to India and users from various parts of the globe were complaining about the same.

Meanwhile, Facebook's picture sharing platform Instagram also faced some technical glitch at the same time. While opening Instagram on web, an error message pops up with a caption: "5 XX Error", those using plaform on mobile app were unable to refresh their feeds.


So far, no official statement about the error and outage has been issued by WhatsApp and Instagram's parent company Facebook. 


We request users of both the social media platforms to sit back and give Facebook tech team some time to troubleshoot the bug. Or else, social world of Twitter is always there for meme fest!!
