Handset maker Vivo on Wednesday refreshed its flagship X series in India with the launch of the Vivo X90 and Vivo X90 Pro. Similar to the previous X series phones, the Vivo X90 and 90 Pro both are camera-centric devices and are powered by MediaTek's top-tier Dimensity 9200 SoC. Rival flagships such as OnePlus 11 and Samsung Galaxy S23 are powered by the top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The Vivo X90 series models were initially unveiled in Malaysia and China.
Vivo X90 and X90 Pro prices, specs, features, design and more
The price of the Vivo X90 Pro in India has been set at Rs 59,999 for the 8GB RAM/256GB storage variant while the 12GB RAM/256GB storage model has been priced at Rs 63,999. The X90 Pro is available in a single colourway: Legendary Black. The Vivo X90, however, is available in a single storage model for Rs 84,999 for the 12GB RAM/256GB variant. The Vivo X90 is available in two colours: Asteroid Black and Breeze Blue.
The expensive Vivo X90 Pro comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED 3D curved display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The panel is claimed to offer 100 per cent coverage of DCI-P3 colour gamut. The handset runs on Android 13-based proprietary FunTouch OS. An octa-core 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC coupled with Vivo's V2 chip powers the smartphone. There is up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and G715 GPU.
Both the Vivo X 90 series smartphones will go on sale in India starting next week.
Like previous Vivo X series iterations, the X90 Pro has also been co-engineered with Zeiss, similar to what we have seen OnePlus doing with Hasselblad. The X90 Pro's primary camera has a 50MP Sony IMX 989 1-inch sensor with an f/1.75 lens and OIS, a 50MP Sony IMX758 sensor and a 12MP Sony IMX 663 sensor with an f/2.0 lens. For selfies, there's a 32MP front camera.
The Vivo X90, on the other hand, comes with similar software, chipset and display specs as the X90 Pro. In terms of imaging, the Vivo X90 also features a Zeiss-branded triple camera setup at the back with a 50MP primary Sony IMX866 sensor with an f/1.75 lens and OIS, a 12MP Sony IMX663 portrait sensor and a 12MP Sony IMX663 ultra-wide-angle sensor. For selfies, the device features a 32MP selfie camera.
