Thomson India's 65-inch smart TV with Google TV OS has been launched in India. Launched by the company's brand licensee SPPL, the new TV belongs to Thomson's Oath Pro Max series and has been unveiled for Rs 43,999 whereas most competing TVs with 65-inch sizes come at a price of more than Rs 50,000. Some of the closest competitors, including Redmi 65-inch 4K UHD Android Smart LED TV costs Rs 59,999 in the country. While picking smart TVS, it must be kept in mind that their audio output is good and they do not have thick bezels that can hamper with the viewing experience. 


Currently, the company already sells a Thomson 65-inch TV, but it comes with a QLED panel. The Thomson Oath Pro Max 65-inch model comes with an IPS display that claimed to offer decent colours and brightness, but they still lag behind QLED displays.


The company mentioned that the TV would be launched on e-commerce site Flipkart during its "Summer Saving Days Sale" which starts on April 13 (Thursday). The new Thomson Oath Pro Max 65-inch TV has been launched in rose gold colour with alloy. However, the TV has a thick base.


Early customers looking to buy the Thomson 65-inch Google TV will get offers until April 17 on Flipkart. According to the current listing on the e-commerce site, buyers with a Yes Bank credit card can avail of a 10 per cent discount on orders above Rs 5,000. The same offer is available for users of DBS Bank debit and credit cards. Buyers with Flipkart Axis Bank cards can get 5 per cent off on their purchases.

The new 65-inch smart TV with Google TV OS also has features such as Dolby Digital and Dolby Atmos and has a memory of 2GB/16GB. The company claimed that the TV is "completely frameless" and supports Dolby Vision HDR 10+, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS TrueSurround, 40W Dolby Audio Stereo Box Speakers, Dual Band (2.4GHz+5GHz) and also comes with features like Wi-Fi.


It is pertinent to note that SPPL, the exclusive brand licensee of Thomson in India is the first Indian manufacturer to produce Google-licensed TVs in the country.
