Multi-room wireless speaker manufacturing major Sonos on Friday launched two smart speakers in India, ahead of the festive season. The Santa Barbara, California-based audio device maker unveiled the Era 300 and Era 100 smart speakers in the country. The company is calling the pricier Era 300 as "revolutionary" speaker for out loud spatial audio with Dolby Atmos and the Sonos Era is apparently a refresh based on Sonos One. Pre-orders of both smart speakers will start via the company's online store starting October 15 (Sunday). The Era 300 and Era 100 speakers are manufactured from post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic.


Currently, the smart speakers market in India is dominated by the likes of Amazon's Echo lineup. Other prominent players in the segment include Lenovo, Marshall and Google.

Sonos Era 300 And Era 100 Price, Specs, Features And Colours In India


The price of the Sonos Era 300 smart speaker has been set at Rs 54,999 in India while the smaller Sonos Era 100 costs Rs 29,999. The smart speakers will become available in the country from October 20. The speakers have been tuned by award-winning artists and engineers, the Era series of speakers come with expanded connectivity and proprietary Trueplay technology.


The Sonos Era 300 features six powerful drivers that direct sound left, right, forward and upward, and promise to deliver a breakthrough audio performance with Dolby Atmos. The device features an hourglass design with attention on details to maximise dispersion of surround sound.

According to the company, the Era 100 and Era 300 are built in a way to address the challenges our environment is facing. The speakers feature a new UI and innovations that will help them last longer, use less energy and make use of recycled materials in them.


The Era 100 is a tad bit larger than its predecessor Sonos One, and comes with new hardware and software. It comes with two angled tweeters and a large mid-woofer.
