New Delhi: Apple's latest update to the iOS, which is the iOS 15.4 is causing battery drain issues for some iPhone users. The update that brought a range of changes, including "unlocking the iPhone with a face mask on" is causing strange battery drain issues for some users after the OTA, the media has reported. While one user said that their iPhone 13 Pro Max lasted only a day, another Apple user said that their iPhone 11 dropped 80 per cent battery charge in 24 hours with two hours of screen on time, according to a report by GSMArena.
It should be noted that these strange battery drain issues are likely to happen after an update and Apple is likely to fix these via an OTA update. Some users have theorised that Apple has started using the max 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate a lot more frequently, the report added.
"iOS 15.4 is killing the battery in my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I could go for days without charging, but it’s down to half capacity by mid day," tweeted a user named @odedia.
Another Apple iPhone user tweeted, echoing the same sentiments: "Hello @AppleSupport @Apple i am facing really bad battery drain problem on my iphone 11 after 15.4 update …help #helppost #apple."
As mentioned before, the iOS 15.4 update that Apple rolled out last week adds the ability to unlock devices while having a face mask on. The latest update from the iPhone maker will function as the normal Face ID, but scan the areas around the user's eyes for authentication. Apple had also announced it was also rolling out iPadOS 15.4 that adds features such as Universal Control, thus, letting multiple Macs and iPads be controlled with the same mouse or trackpad and keyboard.
