Handset maker Xiaomi on Wednesday said that it has shipped more than seven million 5G smartphones in India between May 2020 to June 2022, citing International Data Corporation (IDC) data. According to the market research firm, Xiaomi India grabbed the second position in volume terms for 5G shipments in the second quarter (Q2) of this year, on the back of models like the Redmi Note 11T and the Mi 11i lineup.
However, as per IDC, the average selling price of Xiaomi's 5G models was high at $268 which is roughly Rs 21,380.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi is set to refresh its Redmi Note lineup in the country with the Redmi Note 11SE on August 26, the company also announced today.
The company had refreshed its immensely popular Redmi K series with the Redmi K50i 5G smartphone in the country in July. The Redmi K50i comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC which is built using the TSMC 5nm-class process that comes with four ARM Cortex A78 super cores and four ARM Cortex A55 efficiency cores, a 144Hz FFS AdaptiveSync display, 67W turbo charge and triple rear camera set-up.

The Redmi K50i 5G has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 25,999 for the base 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model. The 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model has been priced at Rs 28,999. The device would go on sale starting July 23 Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Home Stores, Croma, and other retail stores. As part of an introductory offer, the handset maker is offering up to Rs 3,000 off on the Redmi K50i 5G for EMI purchases and ICICI Bank card users.
