New Delhi: Samsung is set to launch its much-anticipated flagship series, the Galaxy S22 lineup at its Unpacked event today (Wednesday) that will be streamed not only virtually, but also through the metaverse. The Galaxy S22 series has been much talked about and the lineup will comprise of the purported Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. One of the likely biggest upgrades that the Galaxy S22 Ultra brings is the support for S Pen, similar to what we have seen on the Galaxy Note models. The South Korean tech giant had earlier hinted at the revival of the Galaxy Note series at the Unpacked event.


The Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event will begin at 10am EST or 8:30pm IST and the launch can be live-streamed on Samsung.com, the company's social media channels like Twitter and YouTube and also through the metaverse. To watch the Unpacked in metaverse, enthusiasts and others can head to “Samsung 837X” which is a virtual space where people can watch a 2D Samsung Unpacked event. Expected prices of Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra


The price of the base variant of the vanilla Samsung Galaxy S22 is likely to start at $799 or roughly Rs 59,800 while that of the Samsung Galaxy S22+ will start at $999 or roughly Rs 74,700). The ultra-premium Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is likely to launch at a starting price of $1,199 or roughly Rs 89,700, reports suggest.


Expected features of the Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra


The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphone will sport a 6.6-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen and it will be powered by either an Exynos 2200 SoC or Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC depending on the market and support up to 12GB of RAM. In terms of camera specs, the Galaxy S22 Ultra could feature a quad rear cam setup lead by a 108MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor and a 10MP telephoto sensor and a 10MP sensor with a periscope-shaped lens. There could a 40MP selfie camera on the front for video calls and selfies. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is likely to be launched in only Phantom Black and Phantom White colours.


The Samsung Galaxy S22+ may also sport a 6.6-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with up to 120Hz refresh rate. Depending on the region, the Galaxy S22 as well the Galaxy S22+ would also feature either an Exynos 2200 SoC or a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. There could be a rear triple camera setup on the Galaxy S22 lead by a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor and a 10MP telephoto sensor. There could be a 10MP selfie camera on the front for selfies. The vanilla Galaxy S22 could also sport the same camera specs, reports suggest.
