New Delhi: Samsung has started to roll out its latest OS update, the One UI 4, based on Android 12, for the premium Galaxy S21 line. Offering more customization and with updated privacy settings, the One UI 4 also brings a new privacy dashboard. This comes after weeks of testing by Samsung of the Android 12 update to its custom OS.
As usual, the rollout will take a few weeks to reach all Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra users globally. Also, Samsung is introducing a new update for the Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch Active2, and Galaxy Watch3 that will let 'users enjoy enhanced health features and new watch faces'.
“We are committed to giving everyone access to the best mobile experiences possible, as soon as possible,” Janghyun Yoon, Executive Vice President and Head of Software Platform Team at Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics, said in a statement.
“One UI 4 delivers on that promise, equipping Galaxy smartphone users with the latest customization and privacy features. But we won’t stop there. Soon, other smartphone and tablet users will also be able to benefit from this software update, enabling a more seamless experience across our entire ecosystem," Yoon added.
One UI 4 Privacy Features
With One UI 4, Samsung intends to bring the latest privacy and security features, so users can choose exactly what they want to share or keep private. One UI 4 will alert when you when an app is attempting to access your camera or microphone, and bring a new privacy dashboard that brings all your settings and controls into one convenient place.
One UI 4 Customization
One UI 4 will enable you to create a customized mobile experience to meet your unique needs and express your individuality. There will be a host of new Color Palettes to let you alter the look and feel of everything from home screen to icons, menu, button and background. The reimagined widgets with deeper customization will let you put your own personal stamp on your experience.
The update also brings a wider variety of emoji features, GIFs and stickers directly from the keyboard.
Meanwhile, the South Korean smartphone major has also confirmed compatibility of the update for last year's Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra, the Galaxy S20 FE, Note 20, Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10+, Note 10, Note 10+ among others.
