Samsung Devices Getting One UI 6.1 Update With Galaxy AI
Samsung revealed that the rollout of the One UI 6.1 update, representing the first major update to the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 launched back in October 2023, will commence across the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5 in the US starting March 28.
Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series will begin receiving the update this week. The majority of users are anticipated to receive the update in April. Although the company did not specify a global rollout, it is anticipated to be available in all regions, including in India, next month.
Making the announcement, the company said: “Galaxy AI puts our groundbreaking suite of AI tools in the palm of more users' hands in different form factors — tailoring the mobile experience to their needs.”
To recall, in early March, the South Korean tech giant initially announced the expansion of Galaxy AI features to more devices.
With the upcoming update, Smasung users will gain access to popular features such as Circle to Search, enabling the ability to draw a circle to highlight or select an object and conduct a visual search on Google without leaving the app. Another feature is Live Translate, facilitating two-way, real-time voice and live caption translations during phone calls. Additionally, Samsung's AI-driven photo editing tool Generative Edit and Chat Assist in Samsung Keyboard will be introduced alongside the One UI 6.1 update.
