Samsung Galaxy Fan Edition (FE) lineup will get a refresh this year, with the Galaxy S23 FE and the smartphone is tipped to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset. A successor to the Galaxy S21 FE, the Galaxy S23 FE is likely to be officially unveiled in the third quarter (Q3) of this year.
According to famed Korean tipster, Connor, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will be launched with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 SoC, which is based on TSMC’s 4nm process.
The South Korean tech giant is likely to ditch the Galaxy A74 this year and shift focus on the next Fan Edition variant. The Galaxy FE lineup from Samsung comprises the upper-mid-range segment of smartphones. The company did not launch the Galaxy S22 FE due to the global chipset crisis in 2022, but this year, it is likely to refresh its Galaxy FE series.
According to a recent report by a Korean publication named Daily Hankooki, the South Korean tech giant is likely to unveil the Galaxy S23 FE in August or September of 2023. The report also added that Samsung may not launch the Galaxy A74 and will instead focus more on the sale of the Galaxy S23 FE.
The Galaxy S23 FE will be a toned-down version of the iPhone rivalling flagship Galaxy S23 series that was launched a few days ago. However, the true competitor to the Galaxy S23 line would be the Apple iPhone 15 line, which is expected to be unveiled this fall. Depending on the pricing and specs, the Galaxy S23 FE would compete with the newly launched OnePlus 11R which was unveiled alongside the OnePlus 11 in India.
To recall, the Galaxy S20 FE that was launched in September 2020 was the first model in the Galaxy FE series, which was followed by the launch of the Galaxy S21 FE that was launched in January 2022.
