Carl Pei's consumer tech brand Nothing has rubbished rumours that it would be launching a "Nothing Phone 1 Lite". Reacting to speculations that a barebones model of the Nothing Phone 1 might be coming soon, Pei noted that it was all fake news.
The Nothing founder quoted a tweet by the publication Android Police and tweeted: "Fake news". It should be noted that smartphone makers usually do not respond to such speculations, but the Nothing founder put speculations and rumours to rest on the micro-blogging site. However, the consumer tech brand is reportedly working to introduce two new audio products.
According to tipster Mukul Sharma who goes by the name @stufflistings, the company is working on wireless earphones Nothing B155 and Nothing B157, and that both of them have received the SGS Fimko certification. "Nothing B155 and Nothing B157 wireless earphones receive the SGS Fimko certification. The Nothing B157 have already cleared the Indian BIS certification. #Nothing #NothingEar1Stick #NothingEar2," Sharma tweeted on Thursday.
A clarification from Nothing comes at a crucial time as rumours of another Nothing smartphone have the potential to dent the sales of the newly launched Nothing Phone 1. The Nothing Phone 1 was launched after a series of leaks and rumours and amid a lot of hype and last month, the Nothing Phone 1 became the latest model to be haunted by a weird green tint issue in the display. Some users have also reported having faced dead pixels on the Nothing Phone 1's screen.
Early buyers of Nothing Phone 1 took to Twitter to complain about the green tint issue with the phone's display while several other buyers of Nothing Phone 1 have reported defects around the device's selfie camera punch hole which we have seen happening with some Google Pixel 6 devices.
