New Delhi: Smartphone maker Realme on Monday introduced its much-awaited, premium flagship smartphone series -- The Realme GT 2 Series in its home turf China. The Realme GT 2 starts at 2,599 RMB or roughly Rs 30,410, the Realme GT 2 Pro will start at 3,699 RMB or roughly Rs 43,377 during the early bird sales. This makes the Realme GT 2 Pro sit in a territory that OnePlus had abandoned long ago.
The Realme GT 2 Pro is the first true premium flagship from the handset maker that comes with the world’s first bio-based master designer, a 2K LTPO AMOLED screen, and houses the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, the largest heat sink area, and a triple camera system. The smartphone comes with the company's proprietary 65W SuperDart charging, a 5000mAh battery, advanced Antenna Matrix System and Dolby Atmos dual stereo speakers.
“Realme has been at the forefront of tech innovations, and has proved itself multiple times in the last three years. With the Realme GT 2 series, we are moving towards the premium smartphone segment, and it is equivalent to starting a new business. Realme has always strived to build excellent user experiences with best-in-class technology and powerful performance, and we will continue to walk on the same path," Sky Li, Founder and CEO, Realme, said in a statement.
"The industry is currently facing numerous challenges, but we are one step ahead and are fully prepared to tackle these challenges.”
The GT 2 Pro also comes pre-installed with Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12 out of the box. The Realme GT 2 Pro will be available in three storage variants: 8GB+128GB, 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB, in four colours options: Paper White, Paper Green, Steel Black and Titanium Blue. Co-desiged by famed designer Naoto Fukusawa and Realme design studio, the Realme GT 2 Pro is the world’s first smartphone to feature a bio-based polymer design, in line with the company's vision of sustainability.
Other specs of the GT 2 Pro include the largest industrial heat dissipation area of 36761mm for up to 3 degree Celcius cooling to maximize the chip's performance. The cooling area is constructed with an all-new 9-layer cooling structure with a 4129mm Stainless Steel VC area, which further enhances the performance, the company claimed. The Realme GT 2 Pro also features the world's first ARM v9 architecture, delivering 30 per cent peak performance and sustained efficiency promotions.
The Realme GT 2 Pro features a triple camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX 766 primary sensor with a 1/1.56 sensor size, optical image stabilisation, and electronic image stabilisation. It also has a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 1/2.76 sensor size, a 150-degree field-of-view, and a 2MP macro sensor.
The vanilla Realme GT 2 comes with a 6.62-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The GT 2 features the previous-gen Snapdragon 888 chip.
