New Delhi: Handset maker Realme on Wednesday confirmed that the Realme GT 2 series will debut on January 4 in China at 7:30pm local time that is 5pm IST. The Realme GT 2 series is expected to feature the Realme GT 2 Pro company's first true first flagship with the top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and a vanilla Realme GT 2.
Earlier this week, the company had unveiled three world-first technologies that the Realme GT 2 Pro smartphone is packed with, including the use of bio-polymer material, 150-degree ultra-wide camera with fisheye mode and 360-degree NFC.
"Realme GT 2 Pro features a minimalist, sustainability-focused design inspired by paper. Created by renowned Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa, this 'Paper Tech Master Design' makes Realme GT 2 Pro the world’s first smartphone to be designed with bio-based materials," the company had said in a statement.
According to previous leaks and renders, the smartphone's rear camera module appears to be inspired by Google Nexus 6P from 2015. The Realme GT 2 Pro may arrive with a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calling. Realme had earlier confirmed the new smartphone would be unveiled with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 that the previous-gen Snapdragon 888 (888 Plus) chipset.
Some other expected specs of the Realme GT 2 Pro include a 6.8-inch screen, an OLED panel, a 120Hz refresh rate and WQHD+ (2960×1440 pixels) resolution. The device may also be the first smartphone from Realme to house 1TB internal storage. Connectivity options will include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, 5G, and more. The handset may house a 5,000mAh battery with support for 125W fast charging and speculated price of the Realme GT 2 Pro is something between Rs 50,000-Rs 60,000.
