New Delhi: Oppo is set to refresh its Oppo Reno series next week. The handset maker recently took to Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo to post the launch invite of the Oppo Reno 8 series. It is likely that the brand launches Oppo Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro at the event. The launch of the Oppo Reno 8 series will be held at 7pm CST Asia or 4:30pm IST on May 23, read the invite posted on Weibo.

According to leaks and rumours, the Oppo Reno 8 lineup may include the Oppo Reno 8, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro and Oppo Reno 8 SE. The Oppo Reno 8 series will be a successor to the Oppo Reno 7 line (read review) that was launched in China earlier in November. Out of the lot, only the Oppo Reno 7 Pro 5G and Oppo Reno 7 5G made their way into India in February.

Oppo Reno 8 Pro and Oppo Reno 8 expected features and specifications


While the Oppo Reno 8 Pro is likely to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max chipset, the vanilla Oppo Reno 8 may come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, according to tipster Digital Chat Station. The leakster added that the Reno 8 series would arrive with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset which could be announced at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon event which is slated to be held on May 20.

The pricier Oppo Reno 8 Pro may feature a 6.7-inch full-HD+ OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is likely to be powered by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging.
