Handset maker Oppo has officially announced the global launch of the Reno 12 series on June 18. The series, which was first introduced in China, features two models: the Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro. These new devices are the successors to last year's Reno 11 series and come with several significant enhancements. (Read our full review of the Oppo Reno 11 here)


Oppo has unveiled the design and features of its latest phone, including AI portrait capabilities, LinkBoost AI, BeaconLink, and a 5000mAh battery. These specifications differ from those of the Oppo Reno 12 series models recently released in the company's home turf China.


The global launch event for the Oppo Reno 12 series is scheduled for June 18 at 5 PM CET (8:30 PM IST). Besides Europe, Oppo has begun hinting at the phone's release in Malaysia, indicating that the series would launch in other Asian markets, including India.






Meanwhile, a recent leak has disclosed the colour options and pricing details for the Oppo Reno 12 series. The standard model is expected to be priced at €457.83 (approximately Rs 41,200) for the 12+256GB variant, while the Reno 12 Pro is likely to be priced at €549.40 (around Rs 49,325.77), presumably for the same configuration.


The Reno 12 is reported to come in Black Brown and Astro Silver, whereas the Pro model is anticipated to be available in Nebula Silver and Nebula Black.

The Oppo Reno 12 Pro uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition. Both of these chips will incorporate MediaTek Star Speed Engine technology, which has been thoroughly upgraded to unlock the full potential of end-to-end gaming.


This octa-core processor uses the TSMC 4nm process and features 1 x Arm Cortex-A78 prime core operating at up to 3.1 GHz, 3 x Arm Cortex-A78 performance cores at 3.0 GHz, and 4 x Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 2.0 GHz. It also includes the Mali-G610 MC6, similar to the Dimensity 8200.


The Oppo Reno 12 series adopts a diamond architecture design. The middle frame, developed by Oppo's own research and development, features the strongest die-cast aluminum alloy in the industry, with significantly higher compressive strength than the industry standard, according to the company.
