Without making any official announcement, handset maker OnePlus has quietly taken down the TV and Displays sections from its official Indian website, suggesting a possible exit from the TV segment in the country. Attempting to access the microsite for TVs and Display now leads to a 404 error page.

The handset maker also appears to have made a decision to halt the production and sale of televisions and monitors in India, months after reports suggested that OnePlus and Realme may exit Indian smart TV market. The brand, owned by Chinese behemoth BBK Electronics, has removed the TV and Displays categories from its India website.

To recall, OnePlus had entered the television category with the launch of the OnePlus TV Q1 series in 2019 and subsequently introduced several affordable and mid-range smart TV models in the country, which were recieved well. As of now, OnePlus has not issued an official statement regarding its withdrawal from the TV and Display business in India.

Earlier in 2023, reports said that OnePlus and Realme, both firms owned by Chinese tech behemoth BBK Electronics Corporation which also owns Oppo, Vivo and its subsidiary Iqoo, are looking to exit Indian TV market.

Notably, as a prominent player in India's smartphone market, OnePlus continues to demonstrate strong growth. According to market research firm Counterpoint Research, OnePlus hit the fastest growth rate in the second quarter (Q2) of 2023, with a remarkable 68 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase. The company commenced its journey with the debut of the successful launch of OnePlus 12 (read our full review here) and OnePlus 12R in January. Additionally, the OnePlus Nord CE 4 is set to be officially unveiled on April 1 in the country.

Notably, OnePlus has officially announced the arrival of the OnePlus Nord CE4, the latest addition to its CE series lineup and the successor to the Nord CE3. The Nord CE4 is set to debut in India on April 1. The teaser from the company showcases a rear design reminiscent of its predecessor, albeit with a notable change: the flash now sits beneath the camera in a circular fashion. Additionally, the accompanying image confirms the presence of an IR blaster positioned at the top on OnePlus Nord CE4.

"Continuing this trajectory of innovation and excellence, OnePlus is proud to introduce the OnePlus Nord CE4, poised to redefine the standards of power and performance. With an unwavering commitment to the ethos of 'All Power. All You.' the OnePlus Nord CE4 promises to deliver an unparalleled user experience, unleashing their true potential and setting new benchmarks," the company said.
