OnePlus is gearing up to expand its OnePlus Open series by releasing a new colour variant. OnePlus has announced that the OnePlus Open Apex Edition, flaunting the Crimsom Shadow colour will be released on August 7. This visually striking foldable phone is anticipated to cement OnePlus' standing in the competitive foldable smartphone market. The OnePlus Open Apex Edition is expected to hit the market with enhanced storage capabilities, advanced AI image editing features, and new security enhancements.

OnePlus Open Apex Edition Design


Inspired by the iconic Hasselblad 503CW 60 Years Victor Red Edition, the Apex Edition boasts a premium vegan leather back with a diamond-like pattern and striking orange accents on the Alert Slider, offering a timeless and luxurious design. Pricing details for this smartphone have not yet been revealed.


The OnePlus Open is designed to be both lightweight and compact, standing at 153.4 mm in height. When unfolded, it has a width of 143.1 mm, and when folded, it narrows to 73.3 mm. The thickness varies slightly between color variants: the Emerald Dusk model measures 5.8 mm when unfolded and 11.7 mm when folded, while the Voyager Black variant is 5.9 mm thick when unfolded and 11.9 mm when folded.

The OnePlus Open features a 7.82-inch Flexi-fluid AMOLED main display with a peak brightness of up to 2800 nits. The cover display is 6.31 inches, with a 2K resolution and 431 ppi. Both screens deliver a smooth experience with a 120Hz refresh rate.


Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the OnePlus Open’s 48MP primary camera, equipped with Sony's LYT-T808 "Pixel Stacked" CMOS sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS). The phone also includes a 64MP telephoto camera and a 48MP ultra-wide camera, all capable of recording 4K videos at 60 FPS. For selfies, there is a 20MP primary camera and a 32MP lens.


Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, the OnePlus Open runs on the new OxygenOS 13.2, based on Android 13. The device is promised four years of major Android updates and five years of security updates, ensuring long-term software support.


The OnePlus Open houses a 4,805 mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging. OnePlus claims the battery can go from 1% to 100% in about 42 minutes, providing more than a day's usage on a single charge.
