If you are a OnePlus user then there are high chances that you would be aware of the pandemic. I'm not talking about COVID-19, I'm talking about the pandemic which comes specifically for OnePlus users i.e., the green line defect. OnePlus has announced a lifetime display warranty for users whose phones have suffered from this green line issue. The company is now offering a free screen upgrade programme for certain handset models in India to fix the green line screen defect.

This screen replacement initiative is a part of OnePlus' Red Cable Club loyalty programme but it is only limited to a few handsets.

Which OnePlus Models Are Covered Under This Scheme

This initiative of OnePlus covers a few old OnePlus phones such as the OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 9, and OnePlus 9R. An X user named Starcommander spotted this new benefit in OnePlus's Red Cable Club loyalty programme.

As per this offer, the aforementioned device's users are eligible for a free screen upgrade along with a free phone cleanup and maintenance service at OnePlus service centres in India. Currently, OnePlus's exclusive free screen upgrade is reportedly available only to users in India. The company is said to be evaluating the potential of offering similar benefits in other regions, such as the US.

OnePlus Free Screen Check & Service Explained

A report by Android Authority revealed details about OnePlus's new free screen upgrade program. The initiative, known as the Screen Diagnostics and Service Initiative, includes three levels of service. The first level, Comprehensive Diagnostics, involves evaluating the screen's performance and reliability. The second tier, Screen Upgrades and Replacements, provides eligible users with a "new, advanced display panel" to enhance display performance. Finally, the Deep Cleaning Service ensures optimal screen operation.

OnePlus has reportedly confirmed that this program is primarily targeting the OnePlus 8 Pro. However, it will also extend to some older models, depending on screen availability.

The report quoted the company as saying, "Devices with human-caused damages, such as drops or liquid intrusion, are not eligible for this free upgrade and should be repaired through our standard after-sales service."
