OnePlus on Thursday announced commitment to long-term software support for its upcoming OnePlus Nord 4 smartphone. The company plans to provide Android updates for four years after the device's release. The handset maker will offer security patches for a six-year period, it added. The OnePlus Nord 4 is set to debut in India on July 16, with the event set to be live streamed on the company's official YouTube channel. Prior to the event, pricing details for India, including bank card offers, have surfaced online.

Meanwhile, according to a leak, the upcoming OnePlus Nord model is expected to be more affordable than last year's OnePlus Nord 3.

OnePlus emphasises that this extended software support will ensure the longevity and security of the Nord 4, the latest addition to their mid-range smartphone line. The company boasts that the device has earned a TÜV SÜD Fluency 72 Month A certification, indicating that the phone will be able to perform over an extended period.

The Nord 4 will also incorporate OnePlus's proprietary Battery Health Engine, which claims to preserve charging efficiency over time. This technology has been certified to withstand 1,600 full charging cycles, enhancing the device's long-term usability.

As with previous releases, the Nord 4 will be available for purchase on e-commerce platform Amazon India. Additional products expected to debut at the event, including the OnePlus Pad 2 tablet, OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro, and OnePlus Watch 2R, are likely to be offered through various online retailers.

OnePlus Buds 3 Pro, Watch 2R To Launch Alongside Nord 4

OnePlus has shared a new teaser image featuring the word "Nord" in silver, further hinting at the launch of Nord 4. The company promised to provide more information in the coming days. The event is said to officially unveil the OnePlus Buds 3 Pro and the OnePlus Watch 2R alongside the Nord 4.

Notably, last year's summer launch event focused on Nord-branded products, including smartphones and true wireless stereo (TWS) earphones.

OnePlus has announced that its Summer Launch Event will take place in Milan, Italy, on July 16. A metal teaser card by the company read: “Some say it’s impossible in the 5G era to make a smartphone with the strength, sophistication and enduring quality of metal. We say…Never Settle.”

Some leaks and rumours suggest that the OnePlus Nord 4 could be a rebranded version of the China-exclusive OnePlus Ace 3V. The China-exclusive model houses a 6.74-inch OLED flat display with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1,100 nits of HBM brightness and 2160Hz PWM dimming. The OnePlus Ace 3V carries an IP65 rating for dust and splash resistance.

The OnePlus Ace 3V is equipped with a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. This OnePlus device operates on Android 14 OS.
