Weeks after the launch of the OnePlus 11, we have leaks and rumours about the OnePlus 12 coming in. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, also a Weibo leakster, OnePlus is currently testing a periscope lens and we could see the OnePlus 12 launch with the same, which could mean much better zoom capabilities on the phone.
As per Digital Chat Station, via Android Authority publication, the handset maker is testing a periscope lens on a device with the number “SM8650” that could come with Qualcomm’s next flagship chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
The OnePlus 12 is likely to be unveiled in early 2024 and come with a triple rear camera dominated by a 50MP sensor.
To recall, handset maker OnePlus unveiled its flagship OnePlus 11 5G smartphone alongside the OnePlus 11R in India in February. The company also launched the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 with Google's signature spatial audio, the OnePlus Pad, OnePlus TV 65 Q2 Pro and the OnePlus Featuring 81 Pro keyboard. The OnePlus 11 competes with Samsung's iPhone rivalling flagship Galaxy S23 series with customised top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and better cameras.
The OnePlus 11 5G comes with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, and promises to deliver increased CPU and GPU speeds (35 per cent and 25 per cent respectively), along with improved power efficiency. The OnePlus 11 5G also comes with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM memory and OnePlus’s proprietary RAM-Vita technology to allow for as many as 44 applications to be active on the device at the same time.
There's 100W SUPERVOOC fast-charging, coupled with a 5,000mAh dual-cell battery on the phone, which is claimed to prolong the battery’s lifespan. The OnePlus 11 5G is said to take only 25 minutes to charge from 1 per cent to 100 per cent, courtesy of the 100W SUPERVOOC fast-charging technology.
The phone also has certifications including TÜV SÜD 48-month Fluency Rating A, TÜV SÜD Precise Touching S Rating, SGS Perceived Fluency A+ and TÜV Rheinland. The OnePlus 11 5G is also the first OnePlus device that will receive four major OxygenOS updates and five years of security updates.
OnePlus 11 has a triple-camera system, dominated by an IMX890 50MP main sensor, a 32MP portrait sensor and a 48MP ultra-wide sensor. The phone has Hasselblad collaboration that would render natural colour calibration, supported by a 13-channel multi-spectral sensor for light-colour identification as well as Hasselblad portrait mode.
