Handset maker OnePlus has announced that it has partnered with Pixelworks, a provider of visual processing solutions, to include the Pixelworks X7 independent visual processor along with its IRX gaming experience on the upcoming OnePlus 12. The OnePlus 12 series is set to be officially launched on January 27. The inclusion of the Pixelworks X7 processor is said to enable the OnePlus 12 to give full play to the company's in-house graphics processing algorithms with powerful rendering capability and visual quality.
It should be noted that the Pixelworks X7 visual processor has been integrated into smartphones such as the Realme GT5, the Realme GT2 Explorer Master Edition and the Redmi K60 Ultra. But the OnePlus 12 will be the first smartphone to incorporate this dedicated chip and launch globally.
OnePlus and Pixelworks share the same commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation, particularly in elevating mobile gaming experiences through enhanced visual processing technologies. With the integration of the Pixelworks X7 Independent Visual Processor on the new OnePlus 12, the two companies are driving a significant leap forward in delivering high-resolution image quality and exceptional gaming performance on a mobile device.
“We’re honoured to continue partnering with Pixelworks to bring the X7 Independent Visual Processor to the OnePlus 12,” Kinder Liu, President and COO of OnePlus, said in a statement.
“Celebrating a decade of OnePlus, the OnePlus 12 is a masterpiece ten years in the making that is set to deliver all-round flagship performance. Our goal is to provide users worldwide with the best all-round experience, and central to this are fully immersive visuals delivered through a best-in-class display. Through our year-long partnership with Pixelworks, we have benefited from the incredible synergies between both of our companies and we look forward to exploring further opportunities to boost the mobile gaming experience for our users.”
OnePlus 12 Series Expected Prices
The global launch of both OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R is set to take place at the 'Smooth Beyond Belief' event on January 23. The OnePlus 12 originally debuted in China in December last year, starting at CNY 4,299 (approximately Rs. 50,700) for the base configuration of 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
The handset maker has also confirmed that the OnePlus 12R will get the "biggest battery ever". OnePlus has used a fourth-generation LTPO 120Hz ProXDR display for the OnePlus 12R. However, the company is keeping mum on the screen size. Some leaks and rumours hint at a sizeable 6.78-inch panel. The inclusion of LTPO technology is pivotal, offering an adaptive refresh rate to enhance battery efficiency -- a trend observed in top Android smartphone models.
