New Delhi: Handset maker OnePlus could be working on a premium flagship smartphone, the purported OnePlus 10 Ultra, according to a new leak. This comes soon after the OnePlus 9RT has been unveiled in India and the OnePlus 10 Pro has also been introduced in China. The latter is said to have an underwhelming set of features. According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the teaming up between Oppo and OnePlus is in full swing and we can expect to see Oppo's proprietary MariSilicon chipset in a OnePlus flagship device in the second half of this year.
"Technology sharing between OnePlus & Oppo is in Full swing, Find X5 series gets Hasselblad treatment and I'm hearing that MariSilicon will be seen on a OnePlus Flagship in the 2nd Half of this year. There are rumours of an Ultra flagship from OnePlus in the EVT phase right now," the tipster tweeted from his handle @heyitsyogesh on Tuesday.
As a result of the deeper partnership between Oppo and OnePlus, which was announced last year, the flagship Oppo Find X5 got to use the HasselBlad technology from the latter. According to reports, even as the OnePlus 10 Pro features a great camera, but still it falls short of the current performance of flagship devices. It is likely that a dedicated imaging processor in the purported OnePlus 10 Ultra helps its camera compete with flagships such as the Galaxy S21 series, the Xiaomi 11 Ultra, and so on.
Meanwhile, earlier last week, a leak suggested that a new budget OnePlus Nord is likely to be unveiled in India soon and the device may feature a 50MP camera and 5G support. While the brand has already launched devices under the Nord lineup, this would be the first time that a Nord smartphone gets launched under Rs 20,000 even as this price segment is the most popular in India.
