New Delhi: Apple iPhone SE 3, the next iteration in the 'affordable' iPhone SE lineup, may be launched in the first quarter of 2022 as voice coil motor or VCM suppliers see no cutback in orders for the new models, says a new report.

According to a paywalled report published in Taiwanese publication DigiTimes, Apple's component suppliers are working towards shipping the next iteration in the iPhone SE line that is slated for launch next year.

"VCM suppliers see no cutback in orders for new iPhones: VCM (voice coil motor) and other component suppliers have still seen no cutback in orders for the new iPhones, and are gearing up for shipments for the next generation of Apple's iPhone SE series slated for launch in the first half of 2022, according to industry sources," the DigiTimes reported quoting industry sources.

Meanwhile, according to Taiwanese research firm TrendForce, we can expect the next iPhone SE may be released by the end of March.

The first iteration in the ‘affordable’ iPhone SE line was unveiled back in 2016. The iPhone SE (2020) edition was launched last year, but there has been no iPhone SE this year. There have been several leaks and rumours about a purported iPhone SE from Apple and one of the rumours suggested that the purported iPhone SE 3 could retain the thick bezels that we have seen in the iPhone SE (2020).

The iPhone SE 3 is likely to be announced by Apple in the first quarter of 2022 and that indicates that Apple might hold another special event around March. TrendForce does not reveal further details about the upcoming iPhone SE, but it does mention that the device may support 5G connectivity.
