South Korean tech leader LG has unveiled the UltraGear GX9 45GX990A, marking the debut of the world's first foldable 5K2K OLED monitor. This innovative addition expands LG's lineup of advanced gaming accessories. Featuring cutting-edge WOLED technology, the monitor includes anti-glare and low reflection (AGLR) properties to enhance the viewing experience. LG plans to showcase this flexible display at CES 2025, which kicks off on January 7 in Las Vegas.
While pricing details for the UltraGear GX9 remain under wraps, LG is expected to reveal more specifics during the event on January 27, 2025. Additionally, reports suggest that two more gaming monitors, including one running on LG's webOS platform, will also make their debut.

The LG UltraGear GX9 45GX990A is a 45-inch gaming monitor boasting a native resolution of 5K2K (5,120 x 2,160) with an ultra-wide 21:9 aspect ratio. It is certified for NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, ensuring smooth, tear-free visuals. This versatile display can transition from a flat screen to a 900R curvature, catering to various gaming preferences. Designed with gamers in mind, it offers an impressive 0.03ms (GtG) response time and supports multiple refresh rates for a seamless experience.
Another variant, the LG UltraGear GX9 45GX950A, features an 800R curvature and nearly bezel-free edges on all four sides, maintaining the same 5K2K resolution and a high pixel density of 125 PPI. For connectivity, both models are equipped with USB-C ports delivering 90W power, ideal for fast-charging laptops and Macs, alongside DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 support. Additionally, the monitors come integrated with webOS, allowing them to double as smart TVs.
