E-commerce giants Amazon India and Flipkart try to cash in on festive sales every year and this year was no exception with the latter offering last year's iPhone 13 for as low as Rs 50,000 under Flipkart Big Billion Days 2022, which meant good news for thousands of buyers, but instead, it left customers fuming as their orders got cancelled. However, a Flipkart spokesperson has said that 70 per cent of its iPhone deliveries were successful.
A bunch of dissatisfied iPhone 13 buyers took to their social media accounts to vent their ire about Flipkart's annual fest. In fact, the micro-blogging site was abuzz with iPhone 13 buyers posting about their bad experience during Flipkart Big Billion Days 2022. One of the dissatisfied users wrote on Twitter: "I ordered iPhone 13 using @Flipkart but it got auto cancelled after 3 days. Tried calling customer care center but didn't get satisfactory answer. Please check @Flipkart."
"Flipkart to customers after selling iPhone 13 at 52K after giving the lollipop of 48K #iPhone13OnFlipkart #bigbillionday," wrote another user on Twitter.
E-commerce major Flipkart has responded to the backlash and said that 70 per cent of its deliveries were successful. "Flipkart is a customer-first e-commerce marketplace and always ensures that customers' interests are protected. We understand that close to 70 per cent of all iPhone orders placed across cities including Guntur, Gorakhpur, and Siliguri have been successfully delivered by the sellers," a Flipkart spokesperson told ABP Live in a statement.
"Further, a minor fraction of orders (<3 per cent of all orders) have been cancelled by sellers due to anomalies," the company spokesperson added.
The Apple iPhone 13’s 256GB and 512GB storage models are available for Rs 66,990 and Rs 86,990, respectively on Flipkart with bank-specific offers on the platform. The e-commerce platform is offering an instant discount of 10 per cent for Axis Bank and ICICI Bank card holders.
