Premium smartphones like iPhone 12, iPhone 13 are not manufactured in India. These smartphones are mainly imported into the country, which, by default, implies a 22.5% custom duty on the them. In India, customers will have to pay around Rs. 10,880 just as customs tax on purchasing an Apple iPhone 13 Mini.


Not only that, customers will also have to pay GST in addition to the customs. Currently Apple iPhone 13 attracts a GST of about Rs. 10,662. On the other hand, people buying this smartphone in the US just have to pay the respective state tax.

Thus, if you are planning to buy the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max, you need to know that you would need to pay a total of Rs. 40,034 as tax. You would have to pay a total of Rs. 21,543 as taxes when you purchase the Apple iPhone 13 Mini. If you purchase an Apple iPhone 13, you will have to pay Rs. 24,625 as taxes. Apple iPhone 13 Pro will attract a tax of Rs. 36,952.

The massive difference in prices between countries can be credited mainly to the high taxes. Apple's new smartphone series would be imported and not Made in India.
