The Google Pixel 9 series is expected to launch on August 13 in India, and the excitement is pretty visible in the market. Google has shared a glimpse of the upcoming Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, however, the official specifications of the same haven't been released yet. Ahead of its launch, a number of leaks and rumours have emerged about the Google Pixel 9 series. The leaks have provided some insights about the features and upgrades that we might see in the Google Pixel 9 series.

The Google Pixel 9 series is rumoured to include four new models, namely - Google Pixel 9, Google Pixel 9 Pro, Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, and the highly-anticipated Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is going to be the tech giant's second foldable device and its first to enter the Indian market. Google might introduce only two models in its upcoming Pixel 9 lineup in India on August 14, rather than the full range. The company's Indian online store has been updated to showcase only two models: the Google Pixel 9 Pro and Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, while the company is said to introduce four models in its Pixel lineup of devices next week.

Google Pixel 9 Series: Price (Expected)

Just days before the official launch, the pricing for the Google Pixel 9 Pro has been leaked. The base model of the Pixel 9 Pro is reportedly priced at $999, similar to the Pixel 8 Pro. However, the Pixel 9 Pro XL, which is considered the true successor to the Pixel 8 Pro, is expected to carry a higher price tag. This indicates that the flagship models in Google's lineup could see a price hike, with the top-tier device possibly being the most expensive in the series.

The leak suggests a potential $200 increase over last year’s Pro model. If Google maintains this pricing trend for the base Pixel 9, it could launch at around $900. According to the leak, two versions of the Pixel 9 Pro are listed at this price, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL is expected to be priced at $1,200 for both the 256GB and 512GB storage variants.

It's important to note that the leaked US prices may not directly correspond to the prices in India. For instance, the Pixel 8 Pro was launched in India for Rs 1,06,999 for the 128GB model, despite its US price being $999. This suggests that the pricing for the Pixel 9 series in India could differ from the US prices and may potentially be higher.

Google Pixel 9 Series: Specifications (Expected)

The standard Pixel 9 is anticipated to sport a 6.3-inch display. Rumours suggest that this model will be offered in four color options: Black, Light Grey, Porcelain, and Pink. For the higher-end models, it’s rumored that the Pixel 9 Pro will also have a 6.3-inch display, matching the base Pixel 9, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL could feature a larger 6.8-inch screen. Additionally, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is speculated to include a 6.3-inch outer display with a substantial 8-inch main screen when unfolded.

Reports indicate that the Pixel 9 series will see improved charging capabilities, with both the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro able to charge up to 55 percent in just 30 minutes, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL might reach 70 percent in the same time frame, potentially featuring a 5,060mAh battery.

The upcoming Pixel 9 series is expected to be powered by Google's next-generation Tensor G4 chipset, marking a significant upgrade over previous models. In terms of memory, the standard Pixel 9 is rumored to include 12GB of RAM, while the higher-end Pro variants, including the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, are likely to come with 16GB of RAM, enhancing performance and multitasking capabilities.

For the cameras, Google is expected to equip the base Pixel 9 with a 10.5-megapixel front camera and a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel wide lens and a 48-megapixel ultrawide lens. The Pixel 9 Pro may feature a 42-megapixel front camera and a triple rear camera system that includes a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 48-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens.

As for the foldable variant, Google is rumoured to introduce a 10-megapixel front camera paired with a triple rear camera array, featuring a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 10.5-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 10.8-megapixel telephoto lens.
